Philip Connaughton is one of Ireland’s most prolific choreographers, with a career spanning over 25 years. Beginning his professional journey as Dream Curly in the UK tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, he went on to perform at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden; Il Teatro La Scala di Milano, and the Bavarian State Opera. After many years performing internationally in dance, theatre and opera, he returned to Ireland, where he founded Company Philip Connaughton and since then, has developed a large body of work, performing in dance festivals in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, the US, and Mexico. Philip is a resident artist of Project Arts Centre Dublin and has been associate choreographer of the Irish theatre company THISISPOPBABY for the past ten years, most recently choreographing and performing in the smash hit Arena show WAKE. He recently won an Irish Times Theatre Award for his work on Rough Magic’s Much Ado about Nothing.
